The human rights to water and sanitation (2010), and the human right to a clean and healthy environment (2021) are the two youngest human rights! To mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, SWA (Sanitation and Water for All) sat down with David Boyd, UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment to discuss the importance of safe access to water and sanitation, and the obligations of governments to find the human, financial and institutional resources necessary to fulfill their human rights obligations and deliver those fundamental services to their people.
