SOLARGIS- Integration of Renewable Energies for Decentralized Electricity Production. The main objective of the SOLARGIS project is to demonstrate how a methodology based on the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) may provide an efficient help for people in charge of developing the use of Renewable Energy for decentralized electrification. This methodology is applied in six selected regions of Europe and developing countries. The Power Systems Group is in charge of the application of the methodology to the Republic of Cape Verde.
MEAPA - Integrated methodologies for renewable energy assessment on Amazonian region. This project consists on the development of methods and software tools, based on Geographic Information Systems, to support Energy Planning and Renewable Energy integration for powering stand alone consumers.
